Today marks the 10th week over at Just Us Girls! Today's challenge is an awesome sketch hosted by Pam! So many options with this one...especially with Christmas right around the corner. Those circles could be turned into a LOT of things ;] I won't give you ideas...I'll just peruse your original creations as they pour in :O) Here's Pam's sketch:
I stamped the outlined poinsettia's from Melissa Bickford's PTI Peaceful Poinsettia set, using SU! Chocolate Chip ink on some awesome, vintage pink and red damask paper that my sister sent to me! I cut out 6 layers of poinsettia's in three sizes and layered them using dimensionals. I adhered brown pearl rhinestones from Michaels in the centers and added some cool olive and artichoke colored branches using a Martha Stewart punch. I cut out my rectangle using a long rectangle Nestability and sponged it with SU! Pink Pirouette ink before removing it from the die. The sentiment is from the same Peaceful Poinsettia set...I stamped it using Memento, Tuxedo Black ink. Isn't it striking?!
The background paper is from the same pack of Basic Gray Nook and Pantry, that Tammy gave me in Philly :O) Boy am I making good use of it! I am having a hard time holding myself back from buying a collection of different packs for my craft room! The brads are American Craft (I trimmed the backs using wire cutteres and adhered them with a double layer of glue dots so that I wouldn't have unsightly prongs on the interior of my card) and the ribbon is PTI Dark Chocolate Twill.
My color palette came from the AMAZING Color Throwdown challenge (CTD71) Danielle presented to us on Wednesday! Isn't is a fab combo? RIGHT up my alley...
Okay, that's all I have for you tonight. I JUST got home from my daughter's gymnastics meet in PA, so I'm beat! Hope you can all play along with our JUGS challenge! If you do, be sure to:

Oh my gosh girly! ALl that cutting to create those SPENDID poinsettias - wow - they are real eye catching! I love the CTD color pallette for this - unique but fabulous. The pearls in the center and as embellishments are lovely lovely accents - you totally rocked this. SO what's behind the scenes girl? Inquiring minds want to know but figure I'll probably know when you can say something. Have a great weekend.
PS - I forgot to say THANK YOU for making the sketch graphic itself and then for making my sketch look SO pretty! YOU ROCK to the 100th power!
What a fantastic card and the sketch is a great starting point for creating a card. Lot's of us lack ideas and inspiration sometimes, so sketches are a brilliant idea to work from. Thanks for sharing it with us x
Kristin, your card is very striking & beautiful! Those paper pieced Poinsettia's look like they were store bought-you really did a fantastic job with Pam's sketch :)
Glad you made it home okay! Your card is just lovely and I can't wait to play with the sketch! What a great idea to remove the prongs from the brads===I will have to try that out. And THANKS for using the CTD colors, too! Awesome!
This card is stunning Kristin! I love the poinsettas and the punched sprigs just make it pop. Great card! I'm glad to be back playing along....even if I only got 10 minutes to do so. Sometimes you can get a lot done in a little amount of time!
Kristin I can honestly say this this is gorgeous because my card is very similar! LOL!! Really, your card is so pretty and I love that you were able to use the CTD colors! I love untraditional colors for holiday cards...it makes them so interesting! LOVE your poinsettias and your brad idea! I HATE how bulky the prongs make the cards sometimes. I'll have to remember that next time. Great job on the sketch!
