Just Us Girls Challenge #11

So, it has been another week since I've posted, which lately means it's time for another challenge over at Just Us Girls!  LOL  My time has definitely been consumed in a GOOD way - behind the scenes ;]  That will all become transparent soon enough...but for now, let's get into the challenge I'm hosting at JUGS this week!  It's week 2 of the month which means technique time!  I chose the Chalkboard Technique!  I've never done this technique and it's easy enough, so why not?!  PLUS, who uses those chalks we bought from Stampin' Up! ages ago?  Seriously, mine have been sitting patiently on the shelf for years...just as quiet as can be...totoally ignored.  I thought it was high time to break them out!

The Challenge

My Card

I used a stamp set I won from Unity while I was at Stampin Around Philly.  Cool, huh?  I used the colors in my patterned paper and chose a nice chocolate base because I LOVE brown, especially when paired with pink or red (or in this case, BOTH).  How about that felt, saddle stitched ribbon?!  I LOVE it!  I bought it for a dollar at Michaels on sale in the holiday ribbon section.  I WISH I had grabbed more.  I might have to make another trip to see what their supply is like ;]  Hopefully I can find some more colors as well.

The rest of the card is pretty simple...and self-explanatory, so I'll spare you the details!  Looking for MORE inspiration?!  Swing by the rest of the teams' blogs and check out their beautiful creations! {<---- links in my left sidebar} They're STUNNING!!  Also, if you are able to play along this week, please link your card using Mr. Linky over at JUGS and also use keyword JUGS11 in any online galleries.
