My Time Made Easy - April Release Peek 2

Oh my... cannot believe the difference in how I feel today.  This past week I have been physically exhausted every day.  I'm talking four hour naps every day since Saturday.  I didn't take one last night because I HAD to create my card, but I still felt like it.  Today, I feel like a new woman.  So, whatever it was, I hope it passed!  I NEED my mojo!  Fortunately, with my newfound energy, I had lots of ideas today that I jotted down.  Today's project is one of those ideas I had :]  I was thinking about my new Occasional Label cut file, Occasional Labels and Sentimental Occasions stamp sets and how I could put them to use in a way OTHER than on a card or a template.  So...I made a mini "template"...a tiny little Easter basket ;]

Luckily, I create cut files in my spare time...so I could easily turn my "basket" sides and bottom panel into an svg file for my Cricut.  I cut all of my "basket" pieces from some of my new Fresh Cut Expressions - Collection 1 paper.  If you follow my blog, you know I almost ALWAYS scale my paper to 5x7 when I print.  I love the smaller design and the fact that I can print two sheets per 8.5 x 11" piece of cs.  I did the same for my basket today :]  

I stamped the "Easter" sentiment from Sentimental Occasions, which I created to be a sentiment building set.  There are so many possible sentiment combinations, I can't imagine not having one that I need ever again!  I added "Happy" from the same set, just on a separate SU Label punched from my mustard Love Defined paper.  I also added one of the pretty silhouette flowers that I colored with markers.  This flower is the same one I broke apart and created the paper from :]

My handle was literally created from a piece of scrap paper laying next to my paper cutter :]  LOL  It was 1/2" wide and 7" long and it was a strip of the same paper my basket was cut from.  I adhered my decorative sewing trim with Scor-Tape, and also adhered the ends of my handle to the basket with the tape.  I hot glued the primas on top.  I didn't want any holes or hardware showing through the basket, so this worked well for me.  I also added a quad-looped bow on the edge of my sentiment with some more hot glued primas.  I'm in love with narrow ribbon again, I must say!  Thankfully, my daughter invested in a TON of it while we lived in Hawaii because she used to create ribbon leis with it.  That craft came and went a LONG time ago, so I dusted off the storage bins under her bed and found a new use for the ribbon :]

I tucked three truffles inside and my little basket was finished!  These would be PERFECT little gifts for co-workers, teachers, mailmen, neighbors, church friends...and any other acquaintance you want to do a little something for.  This was SO easy to put together.  I finished this project in 1/3 the time it took me to finish my card yesterday!!  LOL  I wish I were joking.
