Color Throwdown Challenge #136

Hi friends.  I'm back to share another project using my new stamp sets, cut file, and the Color Throwdown palette my sweet friend, Laura, selected.  Check it out:
LOVE this one!!  Soft Sky paired with Kraft is always a win-win combo ;]  I decided to use my new Occasional Label cut file as the shape for my card.  I resized the file to 5.5" wide (copied/pasted twice), and centered a label (original size) both horizontally and vertically on one of my resized labels to create my frame for the top panel.  I cut the frame from Warm Apple Cider cs from Couture Cardstock, and the other two labels from my Georgia Pacific white.  I layered my frame on top of one of my white panels and stamped the solid frame from my Occasional Labels stamp set, in Dusty Durango centered inside my opening.  I removed the frame and then stamped the text in VersaMark and embossed in white.  It's hard to tell from the photo, but I also stamped my oval in the center to give it a finished look.
I resized my Trendy Tags Set 5 of 6 to 2.85" wide to fit nicely inside my stamped frame.  My Rosey Posey Rosette is cut at it's original size from some Daquiri Ice Bazzil cs.  I stamped my Occasional Labels sentiment on the rectangle from the Trendy Tags Set 5 of 6 and layered it on my rosette with glue dots.  I also stamped a bloom from the same set on the left side of my frame.  I added a button and some twine on the right to balance everything.  Clean and simple...and so EASY!  Did you notice my curled twine?  I got the idea from my friend Silke :]  She always has curled little pretties on her cards.  I used my wire curler to curl the twine and it worked like a charm!
To create my card, I simply scored the top fo my back panel about 1/4" from the edge, added some Scor Tape and adhered it to my other white panel.
That's all I have for you today, but be sure to swing by the rest of the CTD gals' blogs for some more fabulous eye candy!!
Thanks for stopping by :]  Hope you're having an awesome week!

Wow, Kristin, I love this! I would not have thought to use a cut file for the card itself but it works beautifully! I love how you put it all together, especially that rosette on the embossed kraft layer! LOVE it!!
