I will, however, be playing along with the Color Throwdown challenges!! I couldn't give up everything and it's easier (IMO) to keep up with weekly color challenges. So...let's get on with it. This week, Tammy is our hostess and she selected a FAB color palette:
I have to agree with Bar...she's said before, she loves it when the palette includes a green because we can easily make a flower our focal point. Yep...flowers are right up my alley, so naturally, I went with it. Today I'm sneaking a peek of Lauren Meader's Sensational Stems set and one of my digi papers being released at My Time Made Easy on 1 May. LOVE LOVE LOVE her new Sensational Stems set! I foresee this one bieng my go-to set for some time...
This card is actually a birthday card, but I didn't see a good way to add the sentiment to the front of my card since I was following Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge (MTSC71) for my layout and it didn't really fit nicely in a circle tag.
I used Couture Cardstock Bow Bells paper THINKING that one of our colors was Purely Pomegranate (not Razzleberry). Bow Bells is pretty close to Pomegranate...just a little more red than purple...but nowhere NEAR the color of Rich Razzleberry! So, just ignore the incorrect colore palette I used, or adjust your monitor settings :] LOL My ribbon is actually Martha Stewart Craft Seam Binding. I LOVE that stuff! I added some yellow stickles to the centers of my flowers, used our very first MTME cut file called Flutters and Flowers to cut my butterflies, and I stitched them together using craft thread.
That's about all there is to this one! Hope the photo looks a little better than normal since I used natural lighting. Mine always turns out a little yellow and looks hideous compared to the rest of the team :[ I did buy a photo light tent (finally) though. Simply because I hate how my photo stands out in a bad way every week over at the CTD. A photographer I'm not...so any help I can get (like a tent) is welcome!! LOL
Okay, keep our simple rules in mind if you play along. Please stick as close as possible to our palette...though you don't have to use these exact colors. Just come close and avoid those rainbows :] Use keyword CTD90 in any online galleries and post your project to InLinkz on the CTD blog. More detailed guidelines are listed in the right sidebar over at the CTD.
Be sure to swing by our fabulously talented teams' blogs to soak up some more inspiration!
