Here is my card:
Please keep in mind you can use a real photo of someone you know, a photo taken from a magazine, a picture found online, or one of those black and white staging photos from a new frame! Whatever you choose! You'll see the team changed it up and used different things. I chose to use a school picture of my daughter...simply because I normally send her school photo with my Christmas cards to family and friends. Now it has a sweet little photo holder on the inside of the card ;]
I drew the lamp post image and my friend, Chris Barr was such a God-send...he made it digital for me! I now know how to create digital images (limited...but learning quick) so the next one you see will be my work :O) I also created two sentiments to go with the set, and the very talented Tammy Hershberger wrote the "Happy Holidays" sentiment you see on the front of my card. Her hand writing is so beautiful!! Oh, and I DID make her written sentiment digital. That was harder than it sounds :O) LOL
I paper pieced the wreath and I printed the image twice and colored both bows. I cut out one of the bows and popped it up just a little bit by layering my glue dots underneath. I didn't want it too high, just a little higher than the other paper. I colored the bow and the light in (and surrounding) the lamp with Copics. I colored the lamp post with black ink from the ink pad lid and a blender pen. I then highlighted the post with a white gel pen.
Pretty simple really...just would be nice if I had a real collection of Copics so that I can stick with one technique! I trimmed the Happy Holidays sentiment and curled the edges using my wire coiler from my jewelry tools and adhered it with glue dots under the curled paper. Notice I left the middle raised gently for added dimension. I think it turned out so pretty!
I really hope you can play along this weekend!! If you DO play before the deadline (5 Nov @ 9 pm), be sure to link your card using Mr. Linky on the JUGS blog and send an email to Just Us Girls with a link to your card and your email address. We'll send you your free, Happy Holidays digital stamp set! Created by yours truly (Kristin Bueter) featuring Tammy Hershberger! I hope you like it and USE it! I loved checking out the DT's projects using the set...it was so exciting for me :O) Speaking of...make sure you check out their fantastic projects!! They are SURE to get your creative juices flowing!
Use keyword JUGS5 if you upload to an online gallery. Okay, now it's your turn. Hopefully you understand why I've been MIA lately. This computer work takes a lot of time and a different type of mojo! I hope to learn how to do both without adversely affecting the other.
Have a wonderful weekend!

First I want to thank you Kristin for such an AWESOME digital stamp set to create with & for a SUPER FUN Wild Card challenge this week! You are soooo talented & I am sure we will be seeing many more of your exclusive stamp designs in the near future! Your card is FABOLOUS! You did a great job coloring in the image & paper piecing all those little pieces! Thanks so much for this week's challenge! :)
Great job Kristin! Love what you came up with! I "opted" out of the challenge....I just can't seem to make a Christmas photo card yet without my Ethan being on it. So I have my design made for my cards without any photos. I think it will be easier this way, but I love what everyone came up with. It gives people some ideas on how they can do their holiday layouts. Hope you have a great weekend. Ours is busy with trick or treating....that started last night with our little "cupcake".
This turned out awesome, Kristin! Your coloring on the lamp post is fabulous, and I love how you did the sentiment with the curled edges! Fabulous color combo too, and Tia is such a beautiful girl! LOVE her gorgeous hair! Thanks for the fun of this! I'm honored to share my handwriting with you for this fun digi-stamp set!
This is beautiful!!!
Kristin you are amazing girl! This set is SO fun - thank you for this fantastic gift - I'm sure I will use it alot - now as for your card - it's STUNNING! The coloring is beyond fabulous with the highlights on the post - I love the non-traditional colors and the paper piecing - and that holiday sentiment scroll is mojolicious. Girl - I don't think you've slept in the time since you first talked about doing this digi set but it's all come together - I see your name in lights already :-) Thanks for getting Tammy to share her A+ handwriting with us, too.
Hugs and thanks and please tell Tia I think she is gorgeous - with curls that are SO fun and earrings that make me smile.
Oh great Kristen, your creativity and talents astound me. I can see it now, the Kristen Bueter stamp line all over the world! SO glad to be able to use the very first one you ever made! You rock!
And then there is your card...can you say lots of layers and details?! Holy moly girl! YOu have such a skill for creating depth and dimension with your pens and pencils. I love how you made your lamppost stamp come alive with hand colored details. And your girl is a beauty! Happens in a blink of an eye doesn't it?
Hey Kristin! I've never used photos before on my cards so this will be totally new for me! I'm a little scared, but that must be good cos I'm feeling challenged!!
I love your card and how you've made those little wings with pearls on them - cute!
TYFS the great digis with us! I love your card with your lovely daughter's photo inside! What a wonderful gift to send to loved ones. I really like the colors you chose and the beautiful coloring of the image. The sentiments are wonderful too and so is Tammy's handwriting!!
Kristin, this is absolutely stunning!!!! I love the non-traditional colors and all the little details on the card like the scrolled sentiment. WOW!!!! The inside is just as good - displaying your lovely daughter's photo :) And the main image - holy moly!!! You drew that?!?! Girl, you are something else - A-MA-ZING!!! Your coloring job is flawless - mixed media and all :) Thanks for the inspiration (it truly is inspiring) and for the AWESOME digistamp! You and Tammy have done such a super job...really. THANK YOU!!!! Can't wait to finish and submit my project :)
