Just Us Girls Challenge #6

Hi all!  Today marks the 6th week over at Just Us Girls and today Maria is hosting a fab sketch challenge!!

This is my take on the sketch:

I love these colors together and couldn't get them off my mind for some reason!  So, I went with the palette.  I really love how it turned out!  I hope to never need this card, but we all know the circle of life and I expect that it will come in handy when I least expect it.

I colored the tree by using a red marker first to color the leaves, then I used the brown marker to cover the trunk and branches and any stray red marks...huffed and pressed it to the cs.  I originally stamped the sentiment using Sahara directly under the tree, but it was a little off, so I restamped on cs and trimmed it with a curved rectangle nestie, pasted it under the tree and cut my circle.  I used a Martha Stewart punch for the brown and vanilla flowers on the left and used a red brad to hold them together.  I adhered to the cs using a glue dot.  I think the rest is pretty self explanatory, so I won't go into too much detail ;]

If you play along this week, be sure to post your project using Mr. Linky on the Just Us Girls blog and use keyword JUGS6 in any online galleries :O)

Hope you can play along!  We love seeing your gorgeous creations, and just by playing you will be in the running to be our next Chic of the Week!

Have a great weekend.  I'll be in Philly...Stampin' Around :]

Gorgeous and meaningful, Kristen. I love the way the tree is tucked into the edge of the circle and your whoops turned matted sentiment is wonderful. Looks like that tree is giving the sentiment a hug :)The sweet flowers and ribbon slide are too pretty!
